Motion and frames
Lives in: character pack layers
How a layer can animate while someone is on stage. Soft idle sway and 3D models are still early — see below.
Flipbook layers
A layer can be one picture (path) or a short flipbook:
{
"frames": ["blink1.png", "blink2.png", "blink1.png"],
"fps": 8,
"loop": true
}
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
frames | Pictures in order (paths in the character folder) |
fps | Frames per second |
loop | Repeat, or play once |
Combine with drive so a mouth flipbook runs only while typing — Talking and focus.
What is not ready yet
| Idea | Status |
|---|---|
| Soft idle breathe / sway on layered packs | Early — In development |
| Blender / GLTF characters on stage | Early — In development |
Ship with still poses and flipbooks you control. Treat idle and 3D as upcoming, not release blockers.
Story animation presets
Separate from pack flipbooks: story animate commands and shared presets — Animation. Use those for scripted moves; use layer frames for blink / mouth cycles on the character itself.
Usually you need
| Want | Do |
|---|---|
| Blink or mouth cycle | Layer frames + fps |
| Mouth only while talking | Same + "drive": "typing" |
