Speaker art on the panel
Lives in: theme panel slots + character pack ui.panel_slots
Some panel presets reserve a slot for a picture — a bust, icon, or object that follows who is talking. That art is not a stage character place; it is chrome inside the box.
Theme slot
The preset declares a slot id (for example speaker_art) with position and size. Details grow with the theme map; copy a working preset from examples/ when you want a portrait strip.
Pack map
Point the slot at an object (or sprite) id the character owns:
"ui": {
"panel_slots": {
"speaker_art": "hana_portrait"
}
}
When this character is first speaker / routed, the panel can show that art. Theme binding "bind": "talking" on panel chrome is speaker art, not a story-flag bind — Expressions and packs · Reacting to flags live.
With joint lines
Only the first speaker in talking drives panel routing and slot art unless you set panel_id yourself — Lines and speakers.
