How to use the reference
The guide parts teach one idea at a time. The reference is for when you already know what you want and need the exact name.
| You want to… | Open |
|---|---|
| See everything a file can hold, at a glance | File maps |
| Find something by name | Everything A–Z — use your browser’s search (Ctrl+F / ⌘F) |
| Find where the full option tables live | Detail pages |
| Understand a shape that appears in many places | Shared shapes |
| Look up a word these docs use | Words used in these docs |
You never need to read the reference top to bottom.
Guide vs map vs detail: How these docs work.
Check your project
Do not rely on memory (or an AI guessing) for whether a project is valid. With the author kit:
- Open the project in the author player.
- F12 → Validation — broken jumps, unreachable branches, missing assets for the active story pack.
- Fix what the player reports when it loads the project; a kit may also ship a separate check tool.
Fix what Validation reports, then Build. Overlay details: Author tools.
